Great lens for the price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a lens I could use for macro photography. I seen this one was on sale and did not break the bank. It does exactly what I need. Since it does not have VR I recommend using a tripod or monopod. I have a 35mm and 50mm, this lens will get you a lot closer. I have included photos I have taken, both macro and landscape

Great lens for portraits and Macro
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great lens for street photography. You get great details in peoples faces and the bokeh or depth of field is really good. The very fast and quit auto focus makes it great for weddings when you need to be silent. Well worth the price and my new favorite street shooting lens. The macro is amazing as you can see in the attached picture of the bug on a cactus.

great for indoor use
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This lens rocks for inside use, especially on people. I'm talking it looks like professional photograper photos. But I've tried to use it on flowers and outdoor photography and can't get the correct settings. (If I could it would get 5 stars) On outdoor pics everything is either washed out, overly vivid on flowers to where they look fake or just not focused well. I would say if you want indoor photos of people this is a great lens for that. I'm a new Dslr/Mirroless user so maybe I just need practice but I'm pleased I got it for indoors. I have it attached to a Nikon Z50 camera I bought a few weeks before I purchased this Nikkor 40 mm f/2.8 macro lens, so I had to buy a Z mount to use the f2.8 lens on my camera. I bought the camera in a bundle with 2 lens and they are beginner entry level lens from what the best buy employee told me. This is an upgrade for sure. Here's a few low light fall decor pics. I'm pleased with it.

Great entry level macro lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After a lot shopping I bought this to go with my D3100 camera. It is a perfect entry level macro lens. I used it as my one lens at the PHS flower show. It was good for not only standard size shots right down to very small flowers. I have looked at all the other entry level lens and I think this one is the best value for the money. Add in Best Buy member rewards and sale and it was the best deal I could find.

Q: QuestionWhat does "DX" mean on the Nikon lenses?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer In digital cameras, the camera's format refers to the size of its image sensor. Nikon makes a DX-format sensor and an FX-format sensor. The DX-format is the smaller sensor at 24x16mm; the larger FX-format sensor measures 36x24mm which is approximately the same size as 35mm film.

Q: QuestionI have a D750. Will this lens work if I put the camera of crop mode. Will I see black box on the frame?
Asked by Adrian.
- A:Answer The Nikon AF-S DX Micro-NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8G Macro lens can work when the Nikon D750 DSLR camera has the crop mode set to "On". When crop mode is off you will see vignetting in live view. When crop mode is on you will see only the cropped version in live view and when using the viewfinder you will see a black box to indicate what the crop will affect. In playback you will notice this as a possible drop in resolution or the edges of the picture will be blacked out to indicate the DX crop.
