- Answer No, SB6190 will provide support for speed tiers of upto 600 Mbps (varies by service provider) . You can instead opt for SB8200 for giagbit speed support

- Answer Yes, you can get SB6190 with your Xfinity's service, it would provide support for speed tiers of upto 600 Mbps

- Answer No, Please note that SB6190 is a cable modem only (it does not have an inbuilt Wi-Fi router), hence it does not have 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands

QuestionI just bought this modem I’m haveing fire optics put in by spectrum will this modem work with fiber optics from spectrum I’m running a Orbi router I hope this one works I just purchased it if not I will have to take it back Could you let me know thank you

- Answer Hi Chris, Please note that SB6190 is a cable modem and will only work with cable internet subscription , it won't work with fiber optic internet service

- Answer Yes and yes. I paired it with a Netgear R7000P and speed tests even on wifi devices run about 250 Mbps download and 13 Mbps upload on Xfinity. Any router will work though.

- Answer QoS traffic shaping? I’m pretty sure it’s not an option. General quality of service as in connection drops? It will only be as good as what your internet company can provide. If you’re having this type of issue, then you should keep bugging the company to fix it, or change internet service providers.

- Answer This modem has 1 Ethernet port. IF you only have 1 computer, this would be all you need. However, if you are like nearly everyone, you have multiple computers and/or need WiFi for phones, tablets, laptops, etc. If that's the case you will need a router. Which router you get depends on your needs. I personally paired this with a Netgear R7000P which is speed testing at 247 Mbps download and 13 Mbps upload speeds with both Ethernet and wifi devices.

- Answer Visit the ISP website or call them to confirm compatible brands/models. Usually though, the Arris box will say which ISPs they are compatible with.

- Answer Give Comsouth a call before purchasing, or, check their website for a comparability list. Modems have speed ratings which may or may not work with your ISP. Otherwise, when you make the call to activate the modem, you could find out that it’s a no-go.

- Answer If you plug a computer into the Ethernet cable, do you get an internet connection? If yes, then you want to buy a wireless router. This modem will not be part of a solution if you cannot use coax.
