A:Answer Three calls to Optimum. Three different answers as to why it won’t work.
First call, modem is broken; recommended I exchange for same one.
Second call, it won’t work because we have phone service through optimum, and the SB6190 does not support phone. Recommended we cancel phone service in the morning.
Third call, cancelled the phone service and transferred to tech support. This was the most believable answer we got: Optimum doesn’t support 32 channels. Need to exchange for a different modem that has 16 channels.
My question to Best Buy, is WHY is this modem available for purchase in Optimum’s service area? It’s not like we have a choice on our providers.
