- Answer You can attempt to use a disk repair software, but it may not work. All you can do is try.

- Answer Firstly, you have to install a suitable hard drive into the enclosure because it does not come with one. Next you will need to use disk management or a third party partition program to delete any existing partitions and create a new partition. At this point you will not format the drive on the computer; you will simply connect it to the Xbox and format it through the Xbox. There are step-by-step guides all over the internet on how to do this.

- Answer You have to provide a 2.5 inch hdd like the Seagate cuda. And then use this to turn that Seagate cuda into a external drive and it will then work with ps4 as an external drive. I can confirm this works!

QuestionMy mac hard drive does not fit into the case because of the pegs on the sides. I didn't think it would make a difference, so I connected the head part of the disk enclosure and plugged it in. It didn't show up. The usb is 3.0. What could be the problem?

QuestionI have a Seagate 1GB hard drive. It's on a pc with Windows 7 and I can't get the computer to load Windows. Can I take the hard drive out, hook it up to this and then upload the info to my new Windows 10 pc?

- Answer I changed out the hard drive from my laptop for a solid state drive, and put the old drive in this case. Fit well and works well. This is just a box that you need to put a hard drive into. By itself it may light up, but that's all.

- Answer It's unlikely just putting a computer's hard drive into this box will solve your problem. Data retrieval is at best a tricky business. You might get away with doing this by designating your old drive as a secondary drive, and using a functioning computer to access it.

- Answer I would assume so. I purchased mine to use on my Xbox 1 and it works just fine. Idk much about Sony but if it supports external drives then I bet it does.

- Answer This is a known Mac laptop problem. Their USB circuitry doesn't like things that pull more than a few milliwatts on the USB power. This happens with cellphone users on Macs ALL the time. I doubt it is a failure of your enclosure - although it may very well be drawing more power than your average purpose-built external drive. Try using it with a powered USB hub plugged into your Mac instead of the drive directly to the Mac's USB port.

QuestionHaving problems with transferring files from [DEAD] laptop to a new laptop. Any tips? ..Hello, I have purchased this 2.5 Serial ATA Enclosure yesterday, hoping to retrieve not all (that could be asking for too much in my opinion) but other really important files. These files are very important to myself, as they're all I'm looking towards from my old laptop that is dead. I checked & safely removed the dead laptop's HDD and followed the manual carefully putting and using it in the Enclosure. I put it all together, plug it in to one USB port on my new laptop that I believe is a 3.0 port, the light indicator turned on (blue), the "Safely Remove" notification had popped up always, but still had no sight in "My PC" settings. The blue light indicator turned on, once plugged in, but turned off after about 1 to maybe 3 minutes. The notification was gone after such. So I tried using another USB port that I believe may be only a 2.0 (2 USB ports on left side, 1 USB port on the right side. To be believed like my old laptop, the separated single USB port had always been 3.0) - but the same incident had occurred like before, I have not tried the last USB port, but will be trying such. Again, all I wish to do (hopefully) is to retrieve important files and not many folders from my old (dead) laptop's hard drive. Any tips for if I had done anything wrong? And yes, I know on the package it does not state anything to do with using Windows 10 compatibility. Could that be the problem? But I've also seen in other questions and solutions here that it has worked for others when it comes to Windows 10. I'll be trying this again once more, but if I have the same issue I assume that I will be recommended to another device/product, or to return this enclosure, or to do what I am thinking of doing which is asking Best Buy or Geek Squad. Last but not least, this is only to transfer files from a (DEAD) laptop that had Windows 10 to a (NEW) laptop that also is running Windows 10. Please help & thank you!

- Answer I am having the exact same issue I spent $80 on an insignia Ex ternal Hard drive and but a laptop but for some reason it doesn't give me an option to download or copy and paste the media files from the insignia external hard drive. It's a windows 10 laptop please tell me that there is a way that I can simply download the media from the external hard drive!!

- Answer I have a 2012 MacBook Pro and used this enclosure to change the drive in the computer to a solid state drive. The enclosure is now holding the old drive from the computer and it works fine. Once you put the drive in the enclosure, you can reformat it to use as an external hard drive.

- Answer Should work fine. Samsung device is standard SATA interface and is the right size to fit into the enclosure. I used one for exactly the same task.

- Answer Kind of confused with what your asking here. I take it you want to clone your old drive to this one and then swap them out (port over)?? If such the case yes. If existing drive is larger make sure your data transfer s/w will support it. Easeusbackup and a few others work great and can run within windows. once done,, swap drives and reboot. recommend as alway to back up any data before proceeding and rename new drive to something you will recognize- the clone will override, but at least you will know which is your “target”. good luck

- Answer Yes it should. I believe my small drives are that size but they still fit in the enclosure. That was initially my concern as well.
