A:AnswerAs for the buttons lighting up, over not really noticed. From my understanding they infact do. I'm no anywhere near mine at this week to verify this. I do use it at night quit often therefore it probably does. I'm sure another owner can answer this that's in front of their remote. As for controlling your Roku, I have this controlling everything including my xbox. I do not see this being a problem. It does control several other versions. Remember thought IR only.
A:AnswerNeed to correct my last entry! I suggest checking with a pro. It seemed to work with my Bose system (about 6 years old), but did not sync well with my Samsung TV (about 10 years old) because of the location of the sensor on the TV vs the hub sensor. My Geek Squad technician suggested exchanging this remote for a Harmony model 650, which is working well.
A:AnswerIn theory it will do all of that. However, I personnally was not able to do it. It requires you enter the exact model numbers to all of your devices and I had long ago thrown away the manuals and could not find the model numbers on the devices themselves.
A:AnswerI don't believe so, Bob...from what I can gleam from the interwebs the original remote supplied with the TV is RF, or radio frequency, meaning it communicates not by infrared light, but by radio waves higher in the spectrum than our AM and FM radio stations etc. Unfortunately, the 700 is an Infrared Only device, and though it is a great piece, it wouldn't fill your particular needs.
A:AnswerYes. You may have to edit the times it send a signal. I was getting double moves of the cursor in Netflix and a quick google told me how to fix it in the remote settings.
A:AnswerYes, you can look on the back of the receiver you will see model and serial numbers . I used the model number and gave me 19 options to use for the receiver everything from power on or off volume inputs and outputs and more.
A:AnswerMaybe.
You'd be relying on the IR signal bounced around so would be highly dependent on physical layout in closet.
Of course, if you had a TV in the mix I would assume it is not in closet so would need ir extender for that.
