Q: QuestionIf I buy this modem and have just internet. Will it work if i upgrade my internet to fiber BUT also have a wireless router connected to this too in one of the ports for my wireless connectivity?

• A:Answer This is a CABLE modem. it's input is a CABLE connector. getting your internet from fiber will require a fiber modem. sure, the output is with a Cat5 or 6 Ethernet cable like nearly all modems. to get wireless you need another modem.

• A:Answer This is only a Modem. You would also need to purchase a WiFi router - just as the Netgear Orbi system. If you're looking to improve the signal strength of WiFi, a mesh router like Orbi is what you are looking for. This cable modem will get rid of the ComCast equipment fee and provide a more stable connection - but yes, you also need to purchase WiFi.

• A:Answer Yes, however you have to be direct...you can have your own equipment and they will only service the wiring up until the product. They will try hard to get you to keep their stuff. Their stuff does not work that great. Hence my decision. I have consistent internet since I went to the net gear modem and Eero mesh system... lightning speed on at least 15 devices n my house.

• A:Answer Absolutely. Of course "Time Machine" is Apple's name for a software program, so, I'm assuming you're referring to Apple's router with internal drive combination, a "Time Capsule."

• A:Answer Hello sir I use Comcast internet provider. and I called them and asked them for the guidlines for which modem I should buy. They said, i need to buy DOSCIS 3.1, AND 1GB SPEED modem. and gave me 3 names. Netgear was one of them. so I bought this one and works fine so far. You need to call your provider and ask them which one you need to buy, DOSCIS 3.0 OR 3.1. DOSCIS 3.0 IS OLD NOW AND newer one is DOSCIS 3.1

Q: QuestionIf I replace the Xfinity rental modem with this Netgear one, can I still use the Xfinity router that is supplied by them? or do I need to replace the router as well?

• A:Answer You will either need their router or supply your own. Theirs is a modem/router combo, so more than likely if you use theirs and have a your own modem, you will still be renting their modem after having paid for the Netgear. You would need your own router with wi-fi if you choose this product. I chose Google Nest, but there are several other great choices out their.

• A:Answer Using it with Xfinity (Comcast). I’ve had no issues. I am currently getting around 300-350 mbps down, if I paid for better download rates, it would easily handle 400 mbps. So far love the product.

• A:Answer No, bc it doesn’t have the ability to connect phone. However, Netgear does offer a different modem that has the same capabilities as this modem, PLUS internet phone/voice capabilities. It is model CM1150V-100NAS and is also sold at Best Buy. This would be the modem you would want to get. Hope this helps.
