QuestionInstalled Samsung EVO 860 500G in old Dell Studio 540, cloned hd fine, but could not set ssd as boot disk as bios has no AHCI option. Does this SanDisk also require AHCI in order to operate as boot disk? Tried updating bios from Dell, still no AHCI.

- Answer It can use AHCI or ATA. In your case, just select ATA on the bios. I would also enable Legacy mode if you have one. Set secure boot to "disable".

- Answer It depends if you are manually going to reinstall your operating system or do a image. If you do a image then you need a 1G HDD.

- Answer Yes it is. I've replaced the HDD in all my desktops with this SSD and it works and performs great. For mass storage, I also use an internal 1TB HDD data an the Sandisk SSD for the OS and programs.

- Answer No it will not fit in your MBair. It requires a special mlc nand flash stick.
