A:AnswerThis player cannot play UHD/4k discs. It's a different format entirely and requires a dedicated UHD/4K Blu-ray to play them. This player will only upscale a standard Blu-ray to UHD/4k resolution, but then again your 4K TV is doing the same thing.
A:AnswerI think this depends on your tv. To state the obvious, the tv has to be 3D capable, you need an HDMI that is hi-speed, and the tv will dictate what type of 3D glasses you use. My LG tv has a couple of 3D options, so we just put on our glasses and scroll through the selections until the picture jumps out. You will know when you found the right selection!
A:AnswerI DID ALOT OF RESEARCH, This is what I THINK is true, Up conversion on the 7200 means converting a USB or other signal to a HDMI signal. which may not be any better. Upscaling on the 6500 means up scaling the display to 1080i 1080p, or near 4K if your TV can display it. I have a Sharp Aquas Q+ TV which is not true 4K but close, with a SONY 6500 and it does what it says it will and more. Very impressed !
A:AnswerNo, your blu ray player does not need to be a smart player if you already own a smart tv. "Smart TVs" is a term that has come to denote any tv that can be connected to the Internet to access streaming media services and that can run entertainment apps, such as on-demand video-rental services, Internet music stations and web browsers. If your smart tv can already do all of these things, there is no need for a smart blu ray player, save yourself a few dollars. I'm sure you can find one with 4K up scaling and 3D capabilities.
A:AnswerHi there! Yes, the video will playback in slow motion when fast reverse/forward button is pressed for more than one second in pause mode. -Jerome

A:AnswerDVD isn't made to be watched in 4K. Better not to use for this if you want clear picture. A DVD can be up-converted to 1080i /p & will look better. Only Blu Ray should be watched in 4K to maximize picture quality. Hope this helps. Sorry not a Sony rep but definitely an electronics junkie in a good way.
A:AnswerGood questions. I am glad you asked, for I just tried what you asked and yep it works. You'll need to pick the right group: music, movie etc. And it will play fine. I am listening to a mp3 right now and I also checked it out for movies. I was running both off of an external hard drive. The only issue you might have is that it might have an issue with NTFS file format. My hard drive is a 500gig Fat 32 format. You could partition your drive and just format a part of it Fat 32... It may read NTFS... I do not know.
A:AnswerHi, to enjoy watching Internet streaming videos, a network with a fast and stable line speed is necessary. In general, speeds that resemble the following are necessary.
-Streaming standard definition (SD) Internet video: 2.5Mbps
-Streaming high definition (HD) Internet video: 10Mbps
For more information why internet streaming videos stop, pause, buffer, or the picture and sound quality is poor, please visit this link: https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/33377/p/47329,47564,95497/c/65,66/kw/Buffering%20

A:AnswerYes. The picture quality is substantially improved over s standard blu-ray player. The picture on my Panasonic 60" flatscreen(which is non-4K, roughly a 3 or 4 yr old tv at this point) is both more vivid and sharper/more defined than the larger, more expensive home theater standard blu-ray player that we currently have set up for the home system. The difference in the picture quality is immediately noticeable.
