QuestionI the Harmony 665 remote and while it starts the av receiver, satellite box and tv it does not turn it on correctly. I have arc on connected cable to both arc outlets. But the receiver has to be manually set to hdmi 2.2 for the picture and audio to work

QuestionI am deciding which Yamaha receiver to get: the R-N803 or RX-V6A? I want the best music reproduction & don't need surround sound. I have Paradigm towers & a Mirage subwoofer, replacing my Pioneer A/V receiver (Pro-Logic). Which has better sound quality?

- Answer If you aren't doing surround I'd go with a stereo amp. If your speakers can be biamped I'd go with 2 yamaha A-S301 amps, use one for high and one for low. If they can't, go with the A-S701 and biwire it. Either way it will sound much better than any AVR in the price range.

Questioni dont see where this model has blue tooth , i love finding a song from u tube on my cell hpone add it tomy play list and listen to the song off my stereo but naturally this requires bluetooth???

QuestionYamaha said this model was not getting released until January. Is this that model, just Best Buy had access to it sooner, or is a different version getting released in Jan 2021. Also I see best buy adds BL at the end of their sku.

QuestionI just purchased this Yamaha RX-V6A receiver. Is there away to make the back two speakers sound like the front two when playing music? The back two are working but you have to put your ear next to the speaker to hear them. Thanks, Joe

QuestionWhat is the app that the V6A uses? Is it compatible with the basic Yamaha AV receiver app used for previous receivers or does is require another app.

- Answer The manual explicitly lists the MusicCast and AV Setup apps. I've used both. None of their other apps are listed as compatible in the manual and the 6A is not listed as compatible in the documentation of the other apps. I have not yet tried the AV Controller app myself, so I don't know if it really doesn't work or if the documentation simply hasn't been updated.

QuestionIf I turn the receiver on before the TV, the audio comes through the TV speakers. If I turn the TV on first, the audio comes through the speakers connected to the receiver as expected. Anyone seen this or known how to fix so it always uses AV speakers?

- Answer I'll answer my own question in case it helps anyone else. I actually contacted Yamaha support and the issue I had was that the HDMI Control (under HDMI in the settings menu) was set to on - note: what I was experiencing is not technically an issue and is how it is intended to work, but results may vary with different setups. When the setting is on it auto-detects information from the HDMI signal and so having the TV on was affecting that in some capacity; I'm not sure how own why, but nonetheless it was. Turning it off results in the audio coming through the TV speakers if the receiver is off and the receiver connected speakers if the receiver is on which suits my needs.

- Answer As long as the devices have analog outputs that use RCA cables, yes. There are multiple assignable analog inputs.

QuestionI know this will have the ability to support 2.1 with VRR But will this be all I need if my tv doesn't support 2.1? If my tv has a 120hz display but just not hdmi 2.1 will the receiver be enough to work with the next gen game systems? Tv does have earc.

- Answer Two parts to this question; 1) HDMI 2.0 doesn’t support 4K @ 120hz, so that maximum won’t be possible. You can theoretically get something like 1440p @ 120hz over HDMI 2.0. 2) If your TV supports VRR, you should be able to use it all the way up to what HDMI 2.0 supports.

- Answer Yes it has a 2nd zone and you will need a impedance matching speaker selector to connect 4 pairs of speakers. I would get one with volumes controls so you can adjust each room if needed.
