I needed Geek Squad to set up new computers, but despite being a Tech Member, I had to wait 2 weeks for an appointment. I found other IT people to get me up and running well within the 2 week framework

Purchased plan...upgraded the hard drive but the squad did not update the computer. No Word, Excel, desktop, etc. Purchased as we are not computer geeks/literate in this world. Disappointed.

This is the second time for bad service. Months ago I wanted Geek Squad to come out and test me equipment I bought at Best Buy. I was trying to figure out if it was the cable connection or my equipment. The guy arrived and thought he was installing a modem. This last time I asked customer service to have my equipment tested. I was told this could be done. The tech arrived and mentioned we had the wrong setting on the 5g vs regular connection. It seemed to have been the solution to the problem. The first time they refunded my money back. The tech was here, didn't do a thing, left in about 10 minutes. I still had to pay the $99 and my fault paid have to pay the late fees. Being 0 for 2 on service, makes me wonder why I even bother with your service. I gave been a customer for many years. Both times I was promised that my equipment could be checked to make sure everything was working or nothing was wrong with it. I do like shopping at Best Buy but it's the service that makes me frustrated about this situation.

Unsuccessful Attempt to fix my Apple Computer

I went to BestBuy to talk to the Geek Squad about problems I was having with my Apple computer and they scheduled a time for a Geek Squad member to come to my house to resolve the problems I was having with my computer. The Geek Squad member attempted to get my computer working properly and told me I needed to take my computer to BestBuy so they could have 2 or 3 people fix it. He called BestBuy and scheduled an appointment for me to take my computer to BestBuy so they could fix/adjust it for me. However when I got to BestBuy with my Apple computer they told me I needed to leave my computer there and it would take 3 or more days for they to fix it. Since I was under the impression that they would fix it while I waited for it I politely declined to leave my Apple computer and took it home and I am still having most of the same problems the Geek Squad member of came to my house was going to fix, but didn't.

Agent said I must get a lot of info and then have someone at Best Buy remove hard drive and copy into new computer. Have a lot to do to have Geeks finish job. Apparently must take to some Best Buy office not have someone come to me as understood when signed up.

Paid assembly was a mistake

Don't pay to have it assembled. I'm still waiting for them to correct the issue. 3 visits so far. 1 to assemble 1/17/2023(incorrectly), 2nd to repair 3/14/2023(they sent pics to mgt and said it needed replacing bcs its missing parts/fasteners) 3rd visit more pictures and confirmation 3/16/2023, it needs to be replaced. 3/20/23 Called support line and got disconnected after talking to 2 different agents for a minimum of 1/2 hr individually. Still no update from geek squad or Best Buy. If you have at least a full work week to wait around for their 5 hour window for each visit then maybe the assembly would be worth it. I'm at about 16-17 hours of waiting time, including phone calls (it's probably more) and STILL have no resolution.

The appointment scheduled for August 18, 2023, at my new address in GA, was canceled due to the significant additional charges on top of my annual service fee. Consequently, I opted to hire a technician from another company to complete the job that was originally agreed upon in our contract. Furthermore, the other company charged a much lower fee for the same service.
