Geek Squad tried to recover data from dead storage device, with no luck. I appreciate their efforts.

very responsive help, unfortunately not able to recover in store despite initial comments that looked promising based on initial review. Will need to send to level 2 to attempt recover - much more expensive.

The Geek Squad's diagnostic accurate...however, they had to ship my hard drive for data recovery. The data recovery pricing was out of this world. Had to make the sacrifice of loosing all of my stored pictures, documents & videos because I could not afford the cost for the Geek Squad to recover my data.

My old external storage device kicked the bucket and Geek Squad was able to recover about 75% of my data.

Best buy prices for data recovery were ridiculous and I had to constantly pull their website and store for updates. Check status of service order online and it stated 'We need to talk to you before we proceed' Ok, how about an email or a phone call since you have my contact info? Who knows how long my repair would have sat their waiting if i was not vigilant enough to keep checking the status. Then they wanted another $249 in addition to the original $249 i paid to do the data recovery. For a hard drive that cost a little over $100. I know they are not responsible for the hard drive failing, but still a little ridiculous. Then when i decided not to proceed i called Geek Squad to have them return the hard drive to store. 3 days later i call and it still hadn't left the Service Center. Why do i have to keep following up with these people!

So far, I’ve received excellent service from the Geek Squad crew at the Carolina store. They called me several times to give me updates on my device, and have been very professional and courteous.

Having an old external hard drive recovered. Had to be sent in but Geek Squad was very knowledgeable. Just takes a long time to get my product back and unaware if it will actually even be fixed.

Help desk did their best and explained needed to send out. Appears they do not do opening of USB's there but send out the external hard drives to another Best Buy location. Waiting on final of this since have seen Level3 recovery report and waiting on final product which will use new external that went to shop.

Thank you to Willow Grove Geek Squad agents Nick and Rick for outstanding service and follow through in recovering lost data on my personal computer. There was a lot missing and most was recovered. The process required purchase of a laptop to transfer data but am now using the laptop for many other purposes. All data appeared in one file and there was no way to separate or discern files that went back more than a decade so am still sorting through them, but I am very grateful that they were largely recovered. Nick and Rick were always gracious and professional. Many thanks to them for an outstanding job.

They want above and beyond to make sure I was very satisfied. At first we thought it was going to be sent out and all my information was lost. It it was the worse computer ever. They brought a manager over and then they so us a trick of a reset on the tablet part and it started right back up. It was great. Backed it up and made it faster for me. Very happy camper after that. Told me since no way to take apart incase of mother board crash put everything in cloud instead of exterior drive like i do. So that is what i do now!

I was amazed at what they could do, the knowledge, the efficiency, the skill. And their professionalism was terrific. They asked questions to make sure and understand what I needed, wanted, and preferred, and to make sure I understood my device. They were so polite and helpful.

My daughter used my laptop for all her reports and billing for her job. She had documents, files, videos and photos for each of her children that she worked with as an Early Childhood Special Educator. And then something happened and she lost everything! We raced over to the Geek Squad at the Monroe Best Buy. It took a couple of days but they were able retrieve all of her work! They were truly lifesavers! The Geek Squad service contract is the best investment I made and will continue to make on my laptop and future electronic purchases. Thank You Geek Squad!

They were able to recover my crashed external hard drive and backed up onto a new drive. I had a problem with the new drive but they kept my already backed information and were happy to do another backup on to yet another new hard drive for me. Really appreciate.

I took my old college computer in to Geek Squad to try and recover the data. The initial meeting in store was ok, although they were a little slow and disorganized. They had to send the hard drive away to Geek Squad (out of store) which was fine by me. I wound up declining to fix my hard drive in the end though - it would have cost over $1,300!!! So they sent my hard drive back to the store, and I literally had one of the worst experiences when I went to pick it back up. It was right when they first opened (10 AM, on a Friday) and everyone was just hanging out in the back (including managers). Took over 40 minutes just to get a refund. Not cool at all.

The local BestBuy wasn't able to recover any data from my crashed hard drive so they recommended I ship it into the main facility. I was informed they were able to recover data with corruption levels being in a range of "little to none" and "Slight". Not really sure if that means every file has "little to none" or "slight" corruption or just specific individual files. For the recovery of 53.2 G of corrupted data they want $550 for labor + media + tax. I think I will pass not knowing what I'm really going to end up with.

I had a corrupt flash drive that needed to be recovered. I had most of the documents on it backed up but there was about 3-4 month's worth of work (presentations) that I hadn't yet. Unfortunately, most of my new documents were not recoverable but I wasn't aware until after I received the flash drive back (description from report said little to no corruption). Certainly not Geek Squad's fault (I bought a cheap flash drive). I appreciate their effort. If I had to do it all again, I'd probably not pay what I did to not get what I needed. I’ve had to recreate most of that work anyways, which I could've just done in the first place and saved myself $250!

I had a very old computer that simply was done. Originally took it somewhere else where it sat for 3 weeks with nothing done. Brought it to Geek Squad by appointment and was so impressed with the time and effort it took to recall as much of my old data as was possible. Will not ever go somewhere else again.

I had been going crazy over loosing my info on my older Surface pro three and keeping most current info on dual backups. My geeks did it all in record time and added necessary web protection and office 365 on my new improved computer! I can now relax knowing I’ve got my geeks for a full calander year. So many installation discounts on all my purchases for just one low price of $200 with nominal installation fees. They are my computer Gods and they can be yours too! You’ll be glad you did I guaranteed.
