The tv mount that was sold to me didn't fit the area we wanted the TV mounted in. They moved the TV lower to accommodate the mount they brought. TV is an 85" and is hung only @28" off the floor. Not to mention the TV isnt even close to being level. For $250 for installation, even tho I'm a best buy total rewards member, you MUST do better

my tv & mount fell out of the wall

less than a week (6 days to be exact) after my tv was mounted it literally fell out of the wall. i bought a full motion mount so i went to move the tv only for the top 2 screws to come clean out of the wall. when the tv was being installed, i was told they had 2 of the holes in studs - that was false. i was told they're using butterfly anchors to keep it stuck to the wall - they used plastic anchors that came right out. it took me days to hear from best buy and i was only refunded the service (delivery, installation, mounting) fee and had to find and pay someone else to remount it. there was no offer to remount the tv for me, not that i would've accepted it after this debacle. no one I've discussed this with has ever heard of this happening and frankly, i have no inclination to be that special.

The TV mount is not completed yet. It's tilted and cannot be adjusted back. The TV is supposed to be within the wall but it's sticking out. Waiting for the redo. It is very dangerous if it is not redone immediately but seems no one is trying to redo it on the date of appointment yet.

The agent mounted my TV crooked and it took Best Buy almost a month to come fix it. It was a 3rd party the first time, geek squad was able to fix it quickly. But a month of dealing with a crooked tv is ridiculous

Seriously?? $200 for install that takes less than 30 minutes—this timing includes delivery of TV, unboxing and mounting. The tech mounted the TV too high. He did ask me to lay in the position I normally watch TV but it’s hard to tell what’s comfortable for you when you’re staring at an empty wall. Long story short, when I was watching the TV after he left, my neck began hurting because I’m now having to look up at the TV, uncomfortably. I contacted the tech to let him know it’s too high and he did not respond when I told him my availability for him to come back and correct the positioning. I called Best Buy to rectify the issue and was told yes they can send another tech out to fix it, and I would be charged for this service. Excuse me?? Charged??? Again?! Are you kidding? Please save your money people. I can’t begin to tell you how angry I am I wasted $200 on a service that was not done correctly.

Geek Squad Damaged TV

Bottom line, the installer didn’t read the directions for the TV wall mount, and damaged my $2,000 TV. See the attached pictures. The men that came were polite. Unfortunately, the were not familiar with the TV mount they were sent to install. They did not read the directions, because they put the mount on the TV crookedly, and he kept tightening the screw he said would level the TV. Turns out he was turning the wrong screw! I was ready to send the TV and the mount back to the store. I should have, but I let them leave it because I could have my contractor work on it. When the contractor pointed out the damage, I took pictures. The contractor made it right. When I called customer service, I got quite the run around. I hope a supervisor will call me back as promised.

Best Buy sent over contracted installers who spent more time on the phone trying to charge me more for mounting my TV over the fireplace when it was already scheduled and billed correctly for an over the fireplace mount setup. They left the TV adjusted too high and when I asked them to lower the height they told me they couldn’t. I had the mount instructions and adjusted it myself proving them wrong

What was the point when they installed it wrong

Didn't get the notification that they were on their way until they were pulling out of my drive way. They installed my mount backwards blocking me from adding additional things to my mount without taking the tv back off the mount. Kind of defeats the purpose of paying someone to do it for you if they aren't going to do it correctly. The directions how to properly install the mount were available to them and are pictured below. As you can see in the directions all the bracket holes are supposed to be visible when looking at the back of the tv. As you can see by the back of my tv they are not. Instead they were way to concerned in trying to sell me a different mount as i had purchased a full range mount due to i have a lot of available viewing zones from my living room. Instead they wanted to put a stationary one in.

What a joke! Send two 18 yo kids with a rented truck, no ladder, limited tools. They tell my wife to stand in front of the TV in case it falls off the mount! Hang the TV too low so the mount won’t collapse without hitting my fireplace mantle and stuck away from the wall 18 inches. We asked them just to take the TV off the mount so that I could reinstall it myself correctly and they refused. They said the work order was done and promptly left. I had to remove the TV myself, move the mount and reinstall the TV all after paying for the installation. Makes me want to never use Best Buy again!

Nightmare Customer Service

I’m very disappointed in the service related to the installation. The installation was on 1/11. Mounting the LG 86” tv to the wall. The TV was damaged when taking out of the box. But the installers mounted onto the bracket, then realized it had a crack in it. Told me to call for an exchange, and did not take the damaged tv. I spent one week calling the tool tech support everyday asking to exchange. I spoke to 9 different customer service people for one week. No one able to figure out, and telling me it will be resolved in 24 hours later. Finally, one week later, I was able to get an exchange and the new tv was delivered and installed. Worst customer service experience of my life.

I paid 200 bucks for installing the tv mount and tv. As you can clearly see they hung it to low and not centered. The guys seemed like they were in a hurry. I think they used old holes that had been patched without considering it wasn’t centered or High enough. I also think he hung it more to the right because of the outlet when if he knew what he was doing it’s called and extension cord. Totally disappointed. Will never use that service again.

Unnecessary Holes Due to Lack of Communication

Unfortunately, the Geek Squad team has unnecessarily created an additional hole and outlet in my wall, due to mounting the television only a few inches to the right of an existing wall outlet. This also has a white cord going between the now two holes/outlets, that are literally next to one another below the television. This looks terrible, was unnecessary, and I will need to now pay to have someone come to fix this entire project they have completed. Very unhappy.

Friendly service but the technicians didn’t hook up my PS5 to the correct hdmi port on the LG TV. The documents says that the hdmi 3 and 4 or the only hdmi2.1 ports and I requested for it to be installed on the hdmi 2.1. Also the T.V was updated to the latest firmware.

Cable box was left on the floor, electrical outlet was used with an extension cord. I had a cable installer and electrician do the job right and hide all the wires. Sales person said the wires would be behind TV, but not the case with Geek squad. I was Charged $50 for an electrical kit that was not needed. $800 sound bar was installed directly under TV and speakers that are to bounce off ceiling do not function properly. Poor job.$200 labor to install TV, $50 labor to install sound bar plus $50 for kit not needed. Would not recommend Geek Sqaud.

Worst ever installation. $200 for total tech service, which I was told included free installation and then they charged another $293 when they go to our house. They covered on hole with a white plate and left 3 others and scratched the molding around the TV.

After the free consultation, the Geek Squad came to install a soundbar on my 65” tv. The mount was installed, the soundbar put on and then it wouldn’t fit in the space. I was told the only way to fix it was to put 2x4s on the studs and get a new arm for the tv. I reached out to someone else who corrected the problem easily.

I had to work an emergency shift so I was not available when the TV was mounted. I was poking forward to coming home after a long and stressful day at work and jumping into bed and watch TV And just relax. I figured they would take into consideration how elevated my bed is and mount the TV in respectS to it.
Unfortunately, that was not the case. The TV was mounted too low, I cannot see a good portion of the bottom half of what I’m watching, especially the closed captions. I initially bought a 360 swivel mount for the sole reason of mounting it high in respect to my bed being elevated, if it was mounted too high there is a simple solution: tilting the tv downward . But there is no solution to a low mount.
