- A: AnswerNo, it does NOT have an external microphone jack. In the spec tab of this products listing it says it does , but that is wrong. I am returning my camera for this reason. I contacted customer service,and we together called Sony to verify, and they did infact let me and the Best Buy customer service rep know that it DOES NOT have the input. They should be updating the listing soon. but if you need to use this camera for more than recording your kids birthday parties and need audio of a standard higher than the HACK level video, you will need a Field Audio Recording setup that will have to be added in post production editing. Although this camera can achieve a High Definition video performance with a good lighting setup, it's audio capabilities are EXTREMELY limited and this camera should only be used on a personal level not professional or even someone tying to emulate a professional. Please Please please take that into account before buying !!

Great camera for the price!
4 month review. I've used this camera 2x a week for the last 4 months and I've had zero issues. I used this camera mainly for my kids sports in highschool. The quality is great even when zoomed in. It pics up sounds very well in the front of the camera. You will need a memory card there's zero internal storage. The quality of the plastic feels a little cheap so if you plan on using it as much as I do I suggest total tech. I've also uploaded videos to YouTube with no issues. There's also settings to adjust how you shoot your video for a better quality, action recording and automatic lighting adjustment.

Great camera
I have never used one so this is my first. I needed it for longer videos instead of limited cell phone. Its easy to use i was able to get easy instruction on line and ive had no problems. Its light weight and compact i can carry it in my pocket.

the start of a great video/photo journey
great starting camera, the price was pretty little compared to the bulkier cameras with higher quality. the quality is perfect for youtube content, family events, or even nice photos and i’m very much in love with this camera.
