A:AnswerHello Cibber, thank you for your question. The Solo 5 was engineered to work as a standalone speaker, and cannot be paired with a subwoofer. Josselyn - Bose Support
A:AnswerThanks for your interest in the Solo 5 TV Soundbar, Chilopsky! In addition to the digital optical connection, the Solo 5 offers a coaxial input and a 3.5 mm auxiliary input. We would recommend looking for a connection on your TV labeled Coaxial Out, and this is typically a yellow color. For the best assistance with setup, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team at 1-800-367-4008. They are available M-F 9 AM to 9 PM Eastern. Thank you, and have a great day! A:AnswerI'm guessing you're wanting to use the A/V switching capability of your receiver? If so, then yes, but only if your receiver has an audio output to match the soundbar's inputs, such as an optical out. That said, the soundbar is self amplified, you would really be using the "amplifier" in your receiver just the switching.
A:AnswerGreat question, this is a unique situation all depending on the type of patio you're working with. However, As long as the Solo 5 TV Soundbar isn't exposed to: moisture, lightening, or excessive sunlight; you should be good to go . I hope this helped ! If you still have any questions or simply want to go over all of the options you have to chose from in order to best suit the environment of the patio -Reach out to us via one of our Support Lines :https://www.bose.com/en_us/contact_us.html Rae - Bose Support

A:AnswerHello Malcolm,
Thanks for the question. You cannot expand or connect with additional speakers from the Solo 5 soundbar.
Very best regards,

A:AnswerIF THE TV HAS A DIGITAL AUDIO OUTPUT (OPTICAL) CONNECTION IT SHOULD WORK.
THE INTERNAL TV SPEAKERS WILL NOT WORK IF YOU HAVE THE SOUNDBAR HOOKED UP.
HOPE THIS HELPS!
A:AnswerHi Spencer, that's a great question. The green light on the Solo 5 stays on as long as the unit is powered on. Hope that helped! Tony-Bose Support
