- Answer The air filter behind the front grille should be checked and cleaned at least every 30 days or more often if necessary. Clean the filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse and let the filter dry before replacing it. Do not clean the filter in a dishwasher. For full details, see page 8 of the Owner’s Manual, which can be viewed at the bottom of the Features tab on the product page of the Best Buy website. Lauren@GEAppliances

QuestionI am on my second unit the first one started making noise and it stopped working. Just got the replacement unit yesterday and it is making loud noise. It is like something loose in it and water be popping out of it. Is this a defect of this unit.

- Answer I thought the same thing when I first purchased mine. But it was really hot in my house. After about 30-45 minutes it was blowing ice cold air. Make sure you have it on the correct settings though.

QuestionCan this air conditioner be placed on its side for windows that open side to side?

- Answer No, our air conditioners are not designed to be installed sideways. Doing so could cause irreparable damage. It can be installed in a window that is a minimum of 17" wide. In this case, you would not use the EZ Mount installation kit included with the unit and you may need to purchase additional materials to seal any open space on each side and at the top of the unit.

- Answer As warm, moist (humid) air from the room passes over the cold indoor coil, water condenses on the cold indoor coil and collects in the base pan where it flows to the rear of the Air Conditioner. It is normal to see water dripping on the outdoor side of the Air Conditioner. The air conditioner should be installed tilted slightly to the outside (about 1/4 inch) so that any excess water will drip outside rather than leak into the room. Please keep in mind a dirty air filter can cause moisture to collect and drip on the floor inside the room.

QuestionMy window opening is only 25 inches wide. . Will this unit, with the kit be too big to fit in the window? According to the specs, it needs a little over 27 inches.. So even if the surrounding kit is fully collapsed, will it still not fit my window? l
