      It is metal. And the metal connector can be retracted back into the plastic body.

          USB 3.0 is backward compatible with both USB 2.0 and 1.0 however the peak transfer rate will not exceed the USB 2.0 or USB 1.0 speeds.

            The description says this Flash Drive is BLACK. Yet , the picture shown appears to be a speckled light gray or ivory color. Can anyone verify this?

              The actual casing of the components are in grey and the case that slides to cover the connector is black plastic but its a see through so it might look on some pictures like a dark grey

                  All USB ports are the same, must be a SATA port , or a display port. Look in your Manual
