QuestionDoes the chromebook plus come with Microsoft Office already installed?

- Answer No, it does not. With other Chromebooks that have Android app support, you can install MS Office for Android, but the MS Office apps are showing as not compatible in Google Play on this device. Hopefully Google, Microsoft and Samsung get this worked out.

- Answer using google docs, sheets and gmail you can work offline effectively. Many of the android apps that are available on this machine also work offline. I find that I can do everything that I do on a pc with the exception of running the full Quicken application.

QuestionHow good is the 'pen' or stylus function? If my hand slides across the screen while writing ,drawing or whatever will it spaz out and write all over the screen? Would this computer be good for hobby artists or writers

- Answer I have been scouring the internet for more info about the stylus and writing and what I do know is that it has palm rejection. (Not having it would have been a deal breaker!)

- Answer No it does not. If you want a backlit keyboard on a Chromebook around this price, look into the Asus C302CA. For the price, I would say Newegg or B&H Photo is best bet sicne for $499 they offer the Intel Core m3 6Y30 processor which is quite a bit faster than the included ARM processor on this Samsung Chromebook Plus, and even the Asus C302CA for $499 listed here at Best Buy with the Pentium chip.

- Answer If you only want to use Google Docs, this is great. For MS Office, you can try office 365. Much cheaper than full version.

- Answer Well, my guess as to why Samsung did not make the keyboard backlit is because they felt that it was not necessary. I have this device and the screen can get so bright that it lights up the keyboard. I have not felt that the lack of backlighting hinders it in any way.

- Answer ok you should be able to connect and use your printer wirelessly as you would a laptop, smart phone, and other mobile devices. i only know of HP having an actual app that allows for easy scanning, and printing. you will just have to make sure you are on the same bandwidth since the chrome + has capabilities for both 2.4ghz and 5.ghz. and most wifi printers only use the 2.4ghz. as for microsoft office you can download it via the android play store there is an android version it may cost money unless you either have subscribed or have a keycode of a purchased copy. other options is hancom which is samsungs version of microsoft office. i dont know if it has all the bells and wistles as MO does, but it is the same thing. the note pro 12.2 i had had hancom installed free with the tablet. hopefully my information was helpful.

- Answer Android apps run full screen in tablet mode, there are some that aren't fully ready, but most are. In laptop mode they seem to work better and you can have them in full screen, as a window, or minimized. It is really awesome... You can have multiple apps open at once, even better if you like to use a second large monitor.

- Answer Having a cloud based OS is pretty similar to using your smartphone -Its at its prime online or connected to a network, however, there is still plenty you can offline. The core of what it was designed to do is online. So, it was somewhat of an ignorant/opinionated answer you were given. That doesn't mean that a chromebook -or surface for that matter- is right you. It really depends on what you're trying accomplish.

- Answer The Stylus it comes with is EXCELLENT in my opinion. I can take great notes and do a lot of work with it! Feel great in my hand and very accurate and easy to use on the screen. Very responsive and mine has excellent pressure response too! High quality stylus that it came with! Bottom Line: I love the included stylus and I have no reason to upgrade. It works better than just about any stylus I have ever tried using on a Computer, Laptop, Tablet, iPad, or Phone! I also like the software available with the Chromebook, and Google Play Store! Really brings out the quality of this little stylus! --------------------- With that said, I did read somewhere the following may be a "luxury" upgrade for this Chromebook Plus! If that is the case, you certainly have options too!!!!
