Will not leave dock/not for pet hair/ poor design

First of all, the directions are poorly written, and the app is a nightmare to navigate. We finally got it connected, and it mapped the house and started cleaning. We told it to clean the living room and it cleaned a completely different part of the house so we told it to remap the house. It would not remap the house we tried 15 times to get it to remap the house, and it would go a foot out from the dock and return. Needless to say, we will be taking it back. The bin on the base is literally the size of a stand-up tissue box, so it does not hold very much dirt. We have huskies. We needed something to hold hair. The bin on the bot is no bigger than a womans hand, so it would go back to the base frequentlyand you would have to press the clean button on the app to tell it to resume cleaning. Very poorly designed app and robot. I couldn't try the mopping feature as it won't leave the dock now. I have no idea how it received such high reviews.

Pure disappointment

It’s nearly impossible to get a hold of the techs on the phone and you get routed to the wrong department. They send you to the robot department and have to hold again for another 30 minutes, I’ve been on hold for over an hour and still have not spoken to anyone about a warranty replacement for a broken part. This robot is useless and just a paperweight at the moment. I’m disappointed with this company as this is not the first item that has broken on us.

Save yourself the headaches

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.You need to clean the house to get this thing to work, every once in a while it doesn’t recognizes the mop module, it loses the map and the configurations constantly making it impossible to use without reseting it and reconfiguring it again and again, it gets stuck on 1/4” floor transitions. Save yourself the headaches and keep away from this thing.

Absolute No No

Within few days, it started throwing tantrums. Didn’t do anything. If you select a room start cleaning using app, it will go few feet ahead and then go back to the Deck. When you check in history, you will see a weird map. I exchanged that one for new one. It did the same. All three attached images are from history for same map.

Shark 2-1 Vac and Mop is a Trash itself.

The mopping doesn’t work, the mapping is wildly inaccurate, and zoning isn’t usable. It rarely recognizes floor types correctly. Even with my floors cleared each day, it still knocks things over and gets tangled in cords and brushes. It has only completed 2–3 successful runs; most attempts end with a new error. It also randomly left the dock and then couldn’t find its way back. This morning the app showed it disconnected at 5% battery after sitting on the dock overnight. The “60 days without emptying” claim didn’t hold up either—I’ve already had to empty the base. On the few days it did finish, the cleaning looked good, but it’s not dependable enough for daily use. Disappointing for a ~$400 purchase. Shark, stop false advertising, this has been an absolute annoying and disappointing experience so far!!!!

Worthless

I never can go to or find the dock, battery doesn’t last, floors are dirtier after it “mops”. Yes, I clean the pads, the unit, the dock, the sensors. These things are absolute garbage. In fact, Shark/Ninja has been on a decline. I will ever buy another one of these again.

Not Shark quality

We already had a traditional Shark vacuum cleaner so we were expecting a good experience. Unfortunately the Shark robot vac did not live up to Shark standards. We expected the mapping to take time and be a fairly arduous process and it was. After our house was mapped we proceeded to cleaning. Unfortunately this was also an arduous process based on poor app functionality and instructions. On the bright side, after hours of frustration, the Shark did clean our carpeted areas well. Next up was mopping and once again due to poor app functionality and instructions the mopping function was also arduous for the same reasons. After multiple attempts and much trial and error we finally got our robot vac working well. Unfortunately the next time we logged into the app, all of our room definitions and carpet vs mopping definitions were gone. Believe the other reviews that complain about the app functionality. This is a bad product. Ignore the Shark name and reputation as it pertains to traditional vacuums become this robot vac is very far below Shark standards. Our next reboot vac will not be a Shark.

It stopped mopping (liquid feeding mechanism) in 5 months. It was pretty good at moping when it was working. Not very intelligent route algorithms and would stuck time after time (chair, stairs, carpet) but not very annoying.

Complete Garbage

It worked for a few weeks then it stopped and now it’s not longer in the return window. I will set it to vacuum a room and it will end up in rooms that I didn’t set it to. Also when I set it to vaccum and area it doesn’t do the whole area, after a few minutes it will say returning to doc, and when it shows the map of what it cleaned, it says it cleaned the whole area even though it didn’t even enter some areas that I set it to. It will randomly not be able to find the doc. Other times, when it’s done cleaning it will say returning to doc but it ends up roaming the house in areas I never even set it to, and since it says returning to doc on the app, I can’t make it return to doc. I have to pick it up and take it to the doc. It also says it hold two months of debree in the base but after two weeks it wouldn’t vacuum anymore until I emptied it and when I did, it wasn’t even full. It is supposed to be able to detect things in its way, but it constantly get stuck trying to get over the base of a lamp instead of just going around, or getting caught by the legs of the chairs. Instead of just giving up and going around it will stay like that, running into whatever it is until I go and physically move it. Because of alll these problems I can’t even set it to clean when I’m not home. I expected a lot more especially for the price. I feel like it really messes with you too because it works for a few weeks and by time it starts having issues it’s too late to return. I saw a lot of people say this but decided to take a chance anyway and I wish I wouldn’t have.

Do not buy, horrible.

The device itself has the potential to clean well, but the software and phone app are the worst I have ever used. It still has not correctly mapped my small apartment despite 8 attempts at mapping that took over 10 hours to get completed. When it does clean it only goes around the edges of the space, never cleans the middle of any floor. The app is consistently not showing the map and does not follow commands. I thought maybe the first robot was just defective so I returned it and tried again, but the second one is just as bad. Horrible product, no wonder it's on such a big sale.

Had less than a month and stopped working

On top of that Best Buy only gives 15 days to return and this happened on day 17. I purchased the warranty through geek squad but since the machine has a manufacturer warranty it has to go through Shark. So I will not buy another Shark but I will NOT be shopping at Best Buy when Amazon has 30 days and so far in my experience better customer service!

Not Good

Didn't fit under the couches. It had setup the map and still failed to recognize a footstep , instead it "detected a cliff" and completely stopped until I got to it and pressed the clean button.

Don’t waste your time or money
