- Answer I am not sure if the 3 is also 2020 but I know for sure it works with the IPad Air 4th gen. Because I had the other pen and had to purchase this one in order to use it with my new I pad.

- Answer If your pencil is 1st gen it should connect flawlessly. However if you bought a 2nd generation you wont be able to connect it. I just googled it and found it on the Apple website.

- Answer No it does not, that’s one draw back I observed. You will need to take iPad out of the case or have one end open so it can latch on.

- Answer I'm pretty sure the new Apple Pencil requires one of the new late 2018 iPads that have no HOME button. I don't see any way to charge it without the proper iPad.
