• A:Answer I left mine in. I think it’s supposed to stay in there I didn’t see any way of getting it out. I think that’s why I don’t like the air conditioner and it seems to block the air flow from coming out!

Q: QuestionDoes this GE AC default to "Eco" mode when one first turns it on? (Fridgidaire ACs all default to "Eco" mode when one first turns them on, which I hate.)

• A:Answer When I manually turn our unit off and back on again, it defaults to Eco mode. Then I have to manually change the mode to "cool". I first noticed this after a power failure in our neighborhood when the power came back on again.

• A:Answer A through-the-wall sleeve cannot be used to convert window air conditioners with side louvers for through the wall use. The vents on the unit are intended to be unobstructed. Any obstruction of the vents on the side of our unit can prevent airflow from properly cooling the compressor and fan. This will decrease the life of the compressor and fan as well as affecting the cooling performance. Even a sleeve with vents on the sides will reduce airflow. To learn more, see the Window Requirements section on page 11 of the Owner’s Manual, which can be viewed at the bottom of the Features tab on the product page of the Best Buy website. • A:Answer The Delay On and Delay Off settings enable you can set the air conditioner to automatically turn on or off from 1-24 hours. Delay ON—When the air conditioner is off, it can be set to automatically come on in 1 to 24 hours at its previous mode and fan settings. Delay OFF—When the air conditioner is on, it can be set to automatically turn off in 1 to 24 hours. Press the Delay 1–24hr pad on the unit or the remote control. Each touch of the Increase + / Decrease –pads on the unit or the remote control will set the timer in 1-hour intervals. Additional information is available in the online Owner's Manual. Click on the Features tab and scroll to the end of the Features list to see the link for the "User Manual". -Vikki@GEAppliances
