- Answer Portable air conditioners offer SACC ratings. Window units like this one have CEER (Combined Energy Efficiency Rating) ratings. CEER became the new standard by which Window/Room Air Conditioners are rated by the DOE (Department of Energy) in June 2014. It takes into account the energy used while the air conditioner is running as well as the standby power used when the unit is not running but is powered on. QuestionHi, Does this GE Clearview AC have a USB dongle that provides the WiFi/smart connectivity or is the connectivity simply wired inside? If anyone has seen a USB dongle in their unit or knows if it has this, that would be super helpful. Thx in advance!

- Answer We can confirm that this air conditioner has WiFi connectivity built-in and does not require separate hardware. QuestionHow quiet is this unit? Can it be installed in a louvered window?

- Answer Thanks for checking with us. Our instructions are for a standard double-hung window. You will need to modify them for other types of windows. We recommend that you check with your installer. This model is an Ultra Quiet Window Air Conditioner and is truly considered to be quiet at a maximum decibel of 63 and a minimum noise level at 52 decibels. An example of these dBA levels is a normal conversation is approximately 60 decibels, and a rainfall is approximately 50 dBA's. Joyce@GEAppliances

QuestionHow flexible is the left side filter? It will be located at a corner with a wall on the left side. Is it sufficient to just clean the front filter? Also, how tall (height) is the bridge / saddle itself (the part that goes through the window)?

- Answer The side filter is flexible and needs approximately 5" to be removed and reinstalled. Both the front and side filters help capture dust and dirt to keep it from getting on the evaporator. It is important to clean both filters. The saddle is approximately 4" high.

QuestionHow tall is saddle or bridge portion of the unit? In other words, how far would a typical window stick up because of it? I’m trying to determine how many jalousies I need to remove for this as well as spacers so unit doesn’t sit on the ground.

- Answer The minimum height from the window sill to the floor is 10" per the Installation Instructions. So, as long as your window meets that height requirement, the unit won't sit on the ground.

- Answer For this model AHTT08BC, the dimensions must be as follows: width can range from 20” minimum to 40” maximum, 13” minimum height, and a minimum 10” height from the floor. QuestionThe Specs indicate that the cord is 72" (6 Feet) long. My receptacle is slightly farther away from my window than this. Can an extension cord be used with this unit? Thanks!

- Answer We appreciate your interest. Our room air conditioners must be plugged directly into a properly grounded 3-prong wall outlet. We also do not recommend using an extension cord or plugging the unit into a surge protector or multi-outlet adaptor.
