QuestionWill the chaseway expand to accommodate a window depth of 15.5 inches? (Apartment window and wall depth) I see from a previous answer that it only expands to 13.75 inches. Is there a larger model or a way to accommodate a larger wall/window depth?

QuestionThe water “pinging” from fan throwing water against the condenser is so loud this unit is not usable. Installed exactly to specs, level to slight outside tilt, nothing helps. Outside drain plug pulled. It’s brand new. Ideas?

- Answer Same. I was sold on the ultra quiet aspect but it sounds like it’s raining outside it’s so loud. Drained three times already and I installed it today. Slight tilt to the outside as well and plug removed. Buyers remorse on that aspect no doubt.

QuestionWhat is the depth of the outside condenser cabinet and the inside cabinet? I need to know how much the unit extends outside the exterior wall surface and inside. The website only shows 28" total depth with the window chase in the closed position.

Questionbox damaged & stored on side.installed unit & does not get cold enough.seems like compressor does not always come on.tried to put the temp to lowest setting & fan on high but temp was still at 68.is this a sign it was damaged before i got it?

- Answer We do not advise to place the air conditioner on its side or upside down. This placement could cause damage to the mounting of the compressor. If on its side or back for more than a day, leave it in an upright position and unplugged for 24 hours. To best address your delivery and damage concerns, please reach out to Best Buy support by calling 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289) or by visiting the Support Center at the Best Buy website. -- Regarding your temperature concern, we suggest checking out the “Air conditioner does not cool as it should” troubleshooting section on page 16 of the Owner’s Manual, which can be viewed at the bottom of the Features tab on the product page of the Best Buy website. QuestionWhy would you want water to collect onto the outside unit for the fan to do whatever it is you say for efficiency purpose? Doesn't that just now start a mold problem?

- Answer It is normal for water to collect on the inside of your air conditioner. Both the inside and outside of the unit will need to be drained. If you'd like, you can view more on this on page 8 of the Use and Care manual under the Features tab on the product page. QuestionWhat is the DOE SACC BTU of this model?

- Answer Portable air conditioners offer SACC ratings. Window units like this one have CEER (Combined Energy Efficiency Rating) ratings. CEER became the new standard by which Window/Room Air Conditioners are rated by the DOE (Department of Energy) in June 2014. It takes into account the energy used while the air conditioner is running as well as the standby power used when the unit is not running but is powered on. The CEER rating for this unit is 11.4. -Vikki@GEAppliances

- Answer Thanks for checking with us. Our instructions are for a standard double-hung window. You will need to modify them for other types of windows. We recommend that you check with your installer. This model is an Ultra Quiet Window Air Conditioner and is truly considered to be quiet at a maximum decibel of 63 and a minimum noise level at 52 decibels. An example of these dBA levels is a normal conversation is approximately 60 decibels, and a rainfall is approximately 50 dBA's. Joyce@GEAppliances

QuestionHow flexible is the left side filter? It will be located at a corner with a wall on the left side. Is it sufficient to just clean the front filter? Also, how tall (height) is the bridge / saddle itself (the part that goes through the window)?

- Answer The side filter is flexible and needs approximately 5" to be removed and reinstalled. Both the front and side filters help capture dust and dirt to keep it from getting on the evaporator. It is important to clean both filters. The saddle is approximately 4" high.

QuestionHow tall is saddle or bridge portion of the unit? In other words, how far would a typical window stick up because of it? I’m trying to determine how many jalousies I need to remove for this as well as spacers so unit doesn’t sit on the ground.

- Answer The minimum height from the window sill to the floor is 10" per the Installation Instructions. So, as long as your window meets that height requirement, the unit won't sit on the ground.
