A:AnswerYes. I have a puppy and she had an accident. It came across it sensed it and notified us on the app that there was a moisture type of detection. It didn't eat up the poop. It sensed it before it got to the roller.
A:AnswerNo, you do not need either Alexa or Google Assistant to use. You can use the Roomba app to check jobs, start or stop jobs remotely or when at home.
A:AnswerOur home is about 1300 feet and it does an excelent job.It may take two charges to complete the entire cleaning process. It docks itself when the charge gets low and goes back to the correct area after recharging. I was skeptical but it works.
A:AnswerWell, I went ahead and purchased the iRobot Roomba i7+, so I can answer my own question. The fringe on this really big heavy rug under my dining table was not a problem! It did have to backup and approach corners on my rugs from different angles, but did not tangle. The only change I am making so far is to install strip cord protecters over the small cords that run under my sofas. The Roomba did not tangle in them, but it made it have to backup and retry a lot, so I decided to buy the strip cord covers to make smoother cleaning paths. So far, so good!
A:AnswerVery good with both. Cords will cause it to stop and back up until it's untangled. And the one small rug I have doesn't cause any hangups either, and doesn't get moved around either.
A:AnswerHello Rona,
The Roomba i7 has an Edge Sweeping Brush that spins along your baseboards and up into the corners of the room. It’s designed to throw any dust/debris into its suction path allowing for a full floor clean every time it vacuums.
A:AnswerThe dirt disposal bags will need to be purchased repeatedly. Your local BB store may have them or you may have to order them. I ordered an off brand from amazon and they seem to be of comparable quality for less money. The air filters will probably need replacement after a while but there are two in the box and you can clean them so you shouldnt have to worry much about them other than cleaning them.
A:AnswerThe vacuum has solid state memory which will retain the programming and mapping even if it is unplugged/allowed to go dead due to not charging. We have had little power glitches here and there and it hit the next clean cycle and went on out to clean. Very happy with this machine!
A:AnswerI guess this is pretty subjective, I am have not measured the decibel levels.
When the unit is cleaning the vacuum (noise) is much less than a regular full size vacuum cleaner. I have the unit running in front of my office (home) while on conference calls and can hear just fine. Now, when the robot docks and the bin is "evacuated" into the docking station bag, it sounds like a jet engine. Since this only lasts 10 seconds or so, it is tolerable.
I've been using it for a couple of weeks now, and it keeps the dog hair (Lab) under control. It does take a while to clean though. For approximately 2000 sq ft (mix of carpet, tile and hardwood, it take around 7hrs (multiple charges needed to complete the entire job).
A:AnswerI don’t have dogs, but my wife’s hair is long and it did get wrapped around the green rubber brushes when I ran it in our bathroom. The brushes needed to be cleaned after cleaning the bathroom, but it is so easy to clean. I had an old Roomba with the brissel brushes and that was a nightmare to clean. The new design is great.
A:AnswerYou will have no issues with it falling downstairs. It has a sensor that stops it from falling down stairs. Really happy with this model so far, super quite. We have had Roombas for 7 years now, love them.
A:AnswerHi Frank- Your robot will absolutely find its way under your couch. All Roombas are designed with a soft-touch bumper that's designed to softly approach an obstacle (such as drapes, bed skirts, furniture coverings as you describe) to determine if it can pass through to continue cleaning.
A:AnswerI have two rough collies. These dogs have both rough over coats and fine undercoats. The Roomba does an excellent job picking up both types of hair on both hard floors and carpets. Even the fine hairs that have woven themselves into the carpet fibers get removed. I think that "Dad" will jump for joy!
A:AnswerI had the same issue and called tech support. They had me do a clean install: Unload and reinstall app, unplug and restart router, restart robot. It worked.
