A:Answer900h better for gaming as has HDMI 2.1 and VRR. 950h is best if you're just going to watch TV, stream and movies. It is brighter and has slighly better image quality. It also gas a wider viewing angle if you prefer that. I got the 900h as I play online games and will be getting an Xbox Series X this fall.
A:AnswerSony's answers are vague. On one discussion thread about the X900H, someone wrote, "at CES Sony confirmed to flatpanelshd and to Vincent that 900H will indeed have 4K-120 (HFR) in some of the ports. current Sony US 900H page also does mention HDMI 2.1 and 4K-120. [Another dealer's] page for 900H also explicitly mentions "Full HDMI 2.1, 48Gbs"."
A:AnswerHi Tangledwolf, thanks for inquiring about the TV. The X900H will support up to 48 Gbps transfer rate to support 4K120, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), and Enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) via a future firmware update. Regards, Erin
A:AnswerHi N, thank you for inquiring about the TV. The 900H and 90CH are the same models with the same specification. Models with CH like the 90CH is sold at membership-only clubs. Regards, Erin
A:AnswerOh , that's certainly missed by many , with that it will satisfy all Sony customers who are really missing the PIP and SWAP on the remote , a pleasure to enjoy a real SONY.
A:AnswerHi, thank you for inquiring about the X900H Ultra HD Smart TV. This TV support ATSC/NEXTGEN TV (ATSC 3.0). ATSC technology is backwards compatible, so you will still be able to enjoy ATSC 1.0 technology with this ATSC 3.0 supported TV. Regards, Erin
A:AnswerHey there Bruce , there has been issues with this tv due to the last update it just had, to activate the hdmi 2.1 potential for the next ten gaming , Sony has said that’s it in the works to fix the update but no time frame has been given . If this isn’t the issue make sure your tv is power settings is set to not go asleep after a certain amount of time . But if this just recently started happening .. it the update that has brought bugs .
A:AnswerYou would notice a big difference going from 1080 to 4K with any TV but this one is an especially good one. (my opinion of course) As far as streaming options the build in Android TV supports all of the major streaming services. So if you have Amazon Prime many shows are 4K and HDR. If you buy the Netflix tier that supports 4K you will get many shows in Dolby Atmos (another HDR format). And if you want to use a Roku or Firestick there are 4 total HDMI ports. You will need decent internet you anything streaming.
A:AnswerThe real test must be done with a VCR because the resolution is 240 lines ,DVD resolution is more than double, so perhaps someone can perform the real test and post the results of the upconversion quality????
A:AnswerHi TheComedian,
Thank you for choosing and purchasing our Sony X900H Ultra HD Smart TV.
We are sorry to hear that there's a huge delay with the remote control. Is your HDMI signal format set to Enhanced? If this function is not really needed, we can set this back to Standard Format. This should speed up source switching.
1. On the supplied remote, press the HOME button.
2. Select Settings or the settings (gear) icon.
3. Select External inputs in the TV category.
4. Select HDMI signal format
We also recommend doing a soft reset. Hold down the power button for 6-8 seconds until the restart screen option comes up, select restart and let the tv shutdown and restart itself and see if the problem is still there.
If the issue persists, please email the below information to socialsupport@am.sony.com.
