The awesome fellow who came and installed my Yale Keyless lock was fabulous. He double checked his work and made sure that I was able to download the app and set up the wifi with the lock. He explained the warranty to me and also how things would be changing regarding the future warranties that Best Buy would be using. He felt that all customers should know. He also cleaned up after himself and made sure that I was comfortable using it. Really, he was nice, professional and had it all done and cleaned up in less than a half an hour.

The Job was never completed. The technician came in April 7th to install the lock. He took the dead bolt strike home with him because he was going to cut it to fit. He said he would be back the next day. He never came, even though when I called him, he said he would. I went in the Best Buy store for help with this on April 21st. They sent me to the Geek Squad who said I would have to call a 1-800 number for help. After calling and talking to a computer, I went back in the store and asked to see a manager. The manager assured me “Harry” would call me the next day. It is now May 5th and I have heard from no one from Best Buy. I ended up hiring an outside source to install a dead bolt strike that the technician removed and took with him. I feel like my installation fee should be refunded.

Terrible service. A 3rd party came to my home, removed my door knob and put the lock in its place. Said they didnt have the tools to install it above. I comtacted best buy and was told it would be foxed by support and that a work order was placed. Its been months and they never did anything. I cant believe people pay for this service. First time as a totaltech member in 3 or 4 years being disappointed in best buy. Ive already spoke to online chat, in person associates, and totaltech support. All swore it would get fixed. Nothing but empty promises and no follow ups.

another 3rd party / contractor installation from BestBuy. I like the idea of free installation with totaltech membership but they keep sending 3rd party unprofessional people which ruin the experience. They didn't finish the job they didn't connect it to the Wi-Fi and left the hole as you see it the picture because he probably didn't install it correctly. It is also not level correctly. They also installed ring doorbell and it's not connected with the existing chime. I really want to give them 5 stars for the idea of free installation with the membership but with this kind of job by 3rd party they will keep getting bad reviews.

They got me good a third party company did my install and screwed my solid wood door up and it’s been over a week and my door still won’t lock and no one from Best Buy will even talk to me, “just call the insurance company” they will take care of you ,sure they will we can fix that door not replace it I guess they have magic wood they can put in my door and make it Secure again. What ever what a joke go ahead let those nice looking people on the add do your install I wish you could see the people who showed up and the job they did.

I’ve had many smart locks over the years. I was drawn to level because I have a door handle and bolt style on one door that wouldn’t allow for a typical smart lock install. I have these a try on all my doors in my new home to keep the look consistent. While the idea behind this bolt is great, the tech and execution is poor. Frequent connectivity issues and jams persist on all my doors when other smart locks had none of these problems.
I’d avoid this system if you have other choices. I’ve also had 2 locks replaced under warranty due to critical failures. Geek squad took care of the replacement, but even that process is a major pain when it’s a door lock, as they won’t send someone out with a lock—they make you take the lock out and bring it in! Just imagine…a door, with no lock, and a hold in it. Not great. I tried to explain to the phone agent how non-sensical their service is when the issue is related to a smart lock. They send a 3rd party who can only fix installs, but not the lock itself. They ask to uninstall and take the lock (leaving your door unlockable!) or tell you to bring it into a store.
Geek squad clearly hasn’t figured out how to properly service a smart lock issue when it’s the lock and not the install. Pretty negative experience in total.
Stick to a more reliable smart lock to avoid all the issues!

We purchased the Smart Door Lock for the hallway door into our condo. We are often going in and out with our dog, groceries, packages, etc -- and the convenience of not having to pull out a key to gain access makes this product so convenient. Simply push 4 keys on the keypad and the door unlocks. And our BestBuy Total Tech membership included free installation of the keypad/lock. The product is equipped with bluetooth technology so, theoretically, we can unlock or lock the door or change the code from anywhere. Unfortunately, another device needs to be purchased to access this feature. This is the only reason I am giving the rating of 4 instead of 5 stars.

The agent was unable to install my digital deadbolt because they didn’t have the right tools.
When I set the appointment, I called to confirm that the installation agent should be aware that this is a new deadbolt install and not a replacement. When they arrived, they unpackaged everything then stated they couldn’t complete the job because they didn’t have the proper tools and said he would reschedule after returning to the shop. He called later to say that he would have to cancel the install and that I’d need to hire a carpenter. Fast forward to three calls from corporate to reschedule the install and a game of phone tag. In this area, it will cost more than twice as much for a handyman/carpenter to install, which is twice the price of the digital lock purchased. Frustrated and disappointed with the lack of service and poor follow up by corporate.

The technician removed our old door lock and installed our new Smart Door Lock with ease. He was friendly, on time (actually called to let us know he could come early if we were ready), and professional. After installation, we had a glitch with password info., and he patiently helped us until we were all set! He really went above and beyond!

There were a few issues. Cross threaded a bolt the holds the door lock in place requiring the cancellation of one of the installations. We promised to arrange for a replacement and for it to be scheduled for install. Damage to the wood trim due to bad placement of the lock plate. Was repositioned by the owner. Wes said he would plan to compenate me by adding a chime for the Ring Doorbell at nocost. Hopefully to be deliverd and set up when the new lock comes in.

Careful work re bolt fitting

The product required drilling for a bolt and setting up to fit the plate in the door. This was done with care, and great results. Set up of the lock key pad also was done and completed well.
Since I was told by sales that the lock had an app( I didn't check/it didn't) and a key ( it didn't), a smart hub was needed for ZWave. So I needed to make that connection myself through calling Yale and Smart Things. The connection of ZWave to internet works sometimes.This is not a reflection on the install of the actual lock, but the lock itself.
Be aware, if you choose install ( a good lock service), and the lock technology is faulty, removal isn't easy, and a new install of some kind of bolt will be needed.

We had two different guys come out to install our level keypad and door lock. They were both so nice and on time but neither could figure out how to connect it to WiFi threw a separate hub. I don’t necessarily blame geek squad as it seems that level needs to better communicate instructions…
