- A: AnswerThere is no logical way for this device to increase your internet bill, it has absolutely no effect on your internet service. Its only purpose is to extend the network signal over the powerlines in your home. There reallsy isnt much of a configuration to it either. Its designed as a plug nplay device. At worst you would have to link the pair again. Hope that helps.

- A: AnswerThis is wired only but you can add a router to extend your network.

- A: AnswerYou are correct. The two adapters plug into the wall, one near your router and one wherever you want an Ethernet connection. This is not a wireless device. I have an older satilite receiver that has an Ethernet port, but is not WiFi enabled. This solution works perfectly, and for some heavy traffic (movies, streaming, etc). Security is a good question. You have the option to very easily set up a private secure network between the adapters. The adapters are connected in a secure network by pressing a security button on each adapter (and you can add more adapters later using the same process). I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU DO THIS as the adapters come with a generic network security profile that all homeplug AV-certified adapters use. The instructions on how to do this are very clear and simple. While this setup appears to me to be secure, I am not a security expert. Please consult one if you have concerns.

Q: Questionwill this extend the wifi to another building 300 ft away?(7 answers)
A: AnswerNo this only works on Outlets that are in the same buildingAnswered by Kalzaeth
- A: AnswerYes I have two laptops and my Dink Wi-Fi hooked up. When you plug in a third one the system should recognize it automatically. Anyhow it did with my third and fourth ones.

- A: AnswerProbably not Infinite, but we have one box plugged into the router and three 'receiver' boxes working fine. One of the receivers also carries data to a secondary router to provide extra ports and wifi capability. Just means more traffic through your main unit and slightly reduced speed to the others.

- A: AnswerIf the TV has an Ethernet port you should be fine. If not, Netgear has another product(PLW1000) that will provide WiFi for such devices. Works the same--installs the same--does more--costs more.

- A: AnswerThat would be true. Seems to be a very solid Cat 5 connection

IT WORKS!!! NETGEAR - Powerline 1000
I moved into a small apartment in my mother's garage about 150' feet from the main house. The WiFi signal was super weak. I bought the Powerline 1000 just hoping it would work. It works like a champ. The only setup is plugging one box near the router and the other box near your computer or device you want to use. plug the ethernet cables in and your done. You do not have to share the same breaker, just the same service (breaker box). This product works.

Made the difference
My home office is in the back of the house, opposite where the wifi and router are in the den. Air routers proved worthless, so the choice was to run a 200' ethernet cable to the rear of the house, or something I hadn't heard of till recently but network extenders that use the wires in the house to send the signal. Viola! I had signal, and not the 115mbs that comes into the house, but a respectable 25-35mbs, which I suppose would be more had I gone the ethernet cable route, but for work (Covid quarantined working from home) it does just fine.
