- Answer Not really. The Ecobee can control one HVAC unit. It uses the individual wireless sensors to either average them all or focusing on 1 sensor depending on the Comfort settings. For example, if you set the Sleep Comfort settings to just use a wireless sensor, Ecobee uses the temperature from that sensor to control the HVAC. Zone heating requires either separate HVAC units or controllable vents.

Great question. ecobee smart thermostats are not directly compatible with variable fan speed systems but they can be made to control these systems with the purchase of additional hardware. To install an ecobee smart thermostat on a system with an Inverter/VRF heat pump, you'll need to buy a special module or adapter. This helps the thermostat talk to the Inverter/VRF heat pump. But remember, setting it up might mean tweaking your system's dip switches or similar settings. - Answer It’s supposed to help. It does display the humidity on screen. But I don’t think the thermostat is going to help with the humidity by itself. The type of AC unit plays a huge part in controlling humidity in a house. You will have to do the research to learn about that. That’s what I did before finally deciding on an AC unit and a thermostat.

QuestionI have a dual zone a/c unit (1 unit for upstairs/downstairs) in a new build. They put the upstairs thermostat in the hallway which has no a/c vents; a very hot area so if I set it to even 80 it runs continually freezing the bedrooms. Is this my solution?
