QuestionWill this soundbar operate Sony wireless rear speakers? With a 4k source, what enhancement would they provide?

- Answer Yes, there is a set of rear speakers designed specifically for the system. They’re kind of pricey, but I find them essential. If you’ve ever heard a good home theater system consisting of a true 5.1 discreet speaker set up, it’s darn near as good. The addition of the two rear speakers transforms the sound bar and subwoofer into a 5.1 system. Highly recommend the addition of the rear speakers.

QuestionMy sound bar has started to switch from HD audio to momo audio. Not sure the lower term. But it is very hard when watching a movie.

- Answer Not sure if it’s same problem I have had, but they have an issue with the hdmi arc cable, they know about it but offer no real solution without adding an optical cable which downgrades your quality of sound. I know all of this because my sound was cutting out. Good luck

- Answer Hi 1624, Thank you for you inquiry. The Z9F soundbar has the Analog in (stereo mini) where you can connect TVs that do not have HDMI jack or optical digital output jack and portable audio devices such as smartphones and WALKMAN. If you are referring on connecting a headphones to the soundbar wired, the answer is no. It is recommended to hook up headphones on this unit using a Bluetooth connection. QuestionHappened twice now. Subwoofer does not come on with tv and soundbar. Had this new system a few months. Very frustrating.

QuestionHow do I prevent a random person from connecting to my system and playing music? Woke up alarmed to music playing and the volume being increased. I was alone and it was NOT coming from any of my devices, TV was off, Soundbar display said “Spotify”. HELP!

Connecting a device such as a TV or Bluray Disc player compatible with the Control for HDMI function by an HDMI cable enables you to easily operate the device by a TV remote control. These functions may work with devices other than those manufactured by Sony, but operation is not guaranteed. QuestionI have a 6-second delay between starting a video or show and the audio. Every video, and even occurs when I change channels or pause a video. Rewinding doesn’t help - the first six seconds are still silent. Help!!

- Answer Must use eARC connection to TV, with high speed (48gps) HDMI cable. Also, connect video player directly to TV, not to the sound bar, despite manual instructions to the contrary (this was hint from my installer).

- Answer No. I’ve never seen a passive sound bar system. The one in question here, does the ZF9, is a 400 total watt output system. Each speaker on the sound bar receives its own channel providing 100 W of power. The subwoofer has its own internal amplifier producing 100 W to power the sub itself. Both units must be plugged into the wall for power.

QuestionI have been doing a lot of research in regards to this issue. Should I be using HDMI or Optical connection? When I first purchased I was using HDMI then I switched to Optical and for some reason optical sounded better? Any feedback is appreciated.

- Answer An HDMI cable is widely regarded as your best option here. I went from optical to HDMI once I had a television and sound bar that would support arc function or E arc function using an HDMI cable. Of course, this can depend on factors such as the quality of equipment being used and your own personal taste and expectations for sound quality. Another benefit of an HDMI cable is that it allows for the transmission of data in both directions.

QuestionThe subwoofer seems to cut in and out from time to time. I have the subwoofer maybe 3 ft from the sound bar. It will work some days the whole time I’m using it and others it’ll start cutting in and out and then go out and eventually come back. Any help?

- Answer My Alexa paired immediately. I named my device “sound bar”; must specifically tell her to “use sound bar”. I suggest starting pairing over from scratch with this device name.

QuestionCan you use 2 pair instead of 1 of the plug in Sony rear speakers with this sound bar? So adding the speakers will make it 5.1? Will this soundbar sound louder, more bass, & more crisp than the Samsung - HW-Q65T 7.1ch Sound bar?

- Answer from what I am aware of you can only pair 1 set of Rear speakers with the Z9F. Pairing that set of rears to the Z9F will allow you to get better surround experience. Make sure to go into the SoundBar setting, under advance to do the manual speaker settings so you can adjust your decibel volume per speaker, main SoundBar and Subwoofer. Then also go to the distance measurement and enter in the distance from the speaker to your ideal listening position. Once you set these, the SoundBar will even more dialed in and will sound significantly louder because default is set to the slightly lower level so you can adjust it to your preference. I have one in a long living room and one in a small loft and when dialed in you can't notice any difference in quality. They both make a difference. Also make sure to have your Voice setting on, you have 2 levels and Vertical Surround on which will enhance Surround but also help with the Dolby Atmos and DTSX
