The installers fell short of desired placement of some camera locations because of inability to run cables to certain points from inside my attic. Unnecessary holes were drilled. The few hours job turned out to be a two-day ordeal for completion. This was a costly installation of my video security system. This is a newer home and has a fire suppression sprinkler system. The installer jarred the sprinkler piping causing a cover plate to fall and break on the floor. Not only that, now the pressure in the sprinkler system has fallen to 88PSI where it used to average around 135PSI. The fire spray cover had to be replaced and the installers left dirty fingerprints on the ceiling when trying to reconnect it. For Best Buy I would suggest making it necessary for the installers or agents to do a thorough pre-inspection of the property to include the attic to ensure that the job is properly completed thereby ensuring customer satisfaction, because an unnecessary hole was drilled in the house eave that could not be used, A hole was cut into my studio wall for a cable termination point that they could not complete, and several cables runs had to be redone because some cables were cut too short to reach the locations where the cameras were to be placed. Also, a video doorbell was to be installed but problems were encountered, and the video doorbell job was not completed and there are now new drill holes in my stucco wall where the doorbell camera didn't get placed.

The tech that installed the cameras was ok. We have a prewired system that was built into our new home with spots for all the cameras already there. He hung the cameras not in those places so now we have all the face plates showing on our house-see picture. He also set the time wrong and I dont know how to fix it...

I am beyond overwhelmed, disappointed and disgusted with Best Buy's disrespect towards the disabled population, especially Zebras like me. The Besy Buy Geek Squad, the management team specifically the manager Alex who works at the Union Square store have been very disrespectful, biased in respecting as well as accommodating my severe allergy to alcohol based products and other need disability accommodations. Best Buy and its staff has not complied with the promised accommodations and/or repairs they agreed both verbally and in writting to upheld.
As advised and requested by Best Buy geek squad, store sales asssociates, managers and corporate staff I visted the 3 stores that were suggested in hopes to finally resolve the pending issues.
Below are the Best Buy s 3 locations I visited in reference to this issue:
First, The Union Square location that I have visited numerous times since June 2019 last visit to this store was April 25, 2023.
Secondly, the Long Island City location my last and only vist to this store was January 31, 2023.
And Third the Broadway/Layfette location last visted this store on March 30 ,2023.
Although I overly expressed, showed documentation to all locations, as well as some of the Best Buy staff personally witnessing some of abuse by home health aides and/or my next door neighbor during visit to my home, me showing camera footage of the abus, as well as me explaining the need of the surveillance cameras working properly to protect my safety and wellbeing..., its all been a waste of my time and energy.
Best Buy and its staff has and continuous to lie to me, has incorrectly scheduled the return/exchange, the export of data from the DVR and the unistall and reinstall since 2019.
Best Buy doesn't care and continues to place me at risk with no concern for my safety or well-being. The only staff member that has done his best to help me and has been respectful of me has been Michael Lebron. However, once the issues were above his scope of practice and paid grade Michael had to past my issues and concenrs on to his upper management. Since Michael past it on to this upper management team its been a nothing but empty promises, lies, wasted time/money, and many disrespectful and discriminatory assumptions made by Best Buy staff about me.
Although I have shown all my receipts, documentation and have complied with EVERYTHING requested by the Best Buy team members, Best Buy has failed to schedule the job correctly for its third parties to repair or complete. As a result numerous of incorrect appointments have been scheduled by Best Buy team members that resulted in being canceleld by the third party or geek squad since July of 2019. I have been promised numerous of times during several recorded phone conversations with Best Buy Geek squad, corporate as well in person by the staff at store locations mentionedthat these issues would be handled and resolved. I have been patiently waited for a resolution and call from Rafael who stated he would call and email me by Saturday, April 29, 2023. My many attempts with the Best Buy staff members has not resolved nor replaced the defective Swann Surveillance DVR 6 Camera System and/or installed the other camera that I paid for separately... Although I have been advoiding filing ADA, Better Business Bureau, 311 complaints or taking any legal against Best Buy I will be left no choice but to contact all of them if this problem is not properly addressed and resolved by or before the end of May 2023.

I recently had the pleasure of engaging the installation services of Geek Squad/Best Buy for my REOLINK 12MP Wired Security Camera System, which comprised of 4 H.265 12MP UHD PoE Surveillance Cameras, complete with a Person Vehicle Pet Detection feature, Spotlight Color Night Vision, and an 8CH NVR with a 2TB HDD (Model: RLK8-1200B4-A).

Did not go well at all. At points it felt like i was being hustled. The technician arrived more than 1hr late outside the allotted time.
I was told the wires that come with the package was too short and i needed longer wires.
Which could be provided by them at a cost of 1dollar a foot. Bare in mind...i had 60feet wires but was told i needed 100ft runs of wire. I thought that price point was way off so i checked online and saw 4, 100ft wires of the exact type and brand for 25 dollars.
I went and got the longer wires myself. At the point of returning with new wires, i was told they charge 40 dollars per foot over 60feet runs of wire. At this point i was getting frustrated and asked to speak to the technician's boss as none of this was explained to me when i purchased cameras and paid for geek squad membership from best buy.
While speaking to the boss. He mentioned that this was their policy and any "beef" i have i should take it up with best buy. I am not a "beef" type of guy by the way.
Long story short i have an eye sore of excess runs of wires in my living room and one camera position incorrectly to where at night i am only seeing the wall that the camera is mounted on.

Terrible purchase. I totally regret buying this item. Geek squad attempted to install it 5 times. Each time i had to take off most of my day to be here and hold their hand because they didn’t have a clue what they were doing. Cost me an extra $200 in cables and adapters and still didn’t work. Cameras were installed in half the building and they don’t know if it’s day or night, if it’s a human or just nothing at all. They record hours and hours of blank events and skip any movements. The app takes 10 minutes to load a 10 second clip. Imagine trying to look through clips that are being recorded every minute. Impossible.
Useless! Spent over $1000 for nothing.
The ineptness of the geek squad was the worst part by far
They destroyed my soffits and left them unattached where they were blown all over the property. This let’s all kinds of animals in the attic. Every time i contact them i get the runaround and nothing ever happens. The last time they came out the guy said he had to escalate this issue because he didn’t know hot to put soffits back in place. He didn’t do anything after he left. No one i geek squad has a clue.

The installer was polite and easy going. But the installation wasn't good. Left a big hole on my wall, the plate that was installed didn't cover the hole. I ended up patching the hole. Wires are stretched out causing a tripping hazard....I'm gonna end up buying more wire to eliminate the tripping hazard. Over all I'm not pleased with the work done for the price I paid for installation.

The contractors that best buy used are terrible. First they didn't read the instructions for installing my nest cameras. They plugged a non weather proof power adapter into my outside outlets. I was told the wires would be too short to drill a whole into my house to install as recommended by Nest/Google which was not true. They also did the laziest job of running the wires along the trim of my brand new build house which is sad.
Overall I got ripped off. I only allowed them to install 2 cameras because their work was so bad and I was left without a working installation. I paid for the "Up to 4 camera install" and I asked for a refund to be charged for only 2 but was refused. The only option was to allow them to come back but who wants the same people that do this kind of work to come back so they can do more damage.
I'm forced to hire someone else now along with the extra work to patch up the damage of a lazy install.

Very nice installers. That is where it ends. I had three previous appointment which were not completed. On the fourth, two very nice 20 year olds came to install. They were courteous. Not electricians. They sloppily put up cameras with hanging cords everywhere. Because two of the cords were too short they attached them with a NON-Outdoor extension cord with plug in sockets. Even I know this is an electrical shock hazard, probably will short out when it gets wet. Endanger anyone who might come in contact with it.

Worst ever!!! This service might be best for wireless camera installs only. The people they sent out were not able to climb more than 5-10 feet and I have a two story house. I will add pictures of how my house is left. Not to mention I have wires running from one site of my bedroom to the other side on the wall. My previous camera installation the wires were not visible except where they came out at the location of the dvr. The installers are very nice but my house is not the best after. I’ve been calling ever since to get some help and no one calls me back and they just keep telling my there are escalating the issue and someone will get back to me. I don’t know who that someone is but they have received multiple escalations. Still waiting….

The worse company to buy & have install anything! I’ve purchased ALL of my electronics and appliances there, also a Total Tech member. I’ve paid to install two TV’s, a camera system, Bose sound bar, a nest thermostat and two Ring doorbells. Installers broke both TV’s, install cameras and left exposed wires, one camera went out the next day, Damage my siding and left hanging wire. Had me buy extra parts for the thermostat (which didn’t need), Left ALL debris and trash on ground all over!

3rd party contractors, Best Buy doesn’t even come out to the site. I bought the 4 camera system install. Now The reason for the poor rating is because the first installer that came out which was called Novel, broke a light fixture outside of my house. What bothered me was that the installer didn’t even have the decency to tell me that he broke it. He came up with an excuse to have to leave instead of installing the cameras. All he did was place them where I wanted, left a wire hanging and stated he didn’t have the proper equipment. Packed up and left. Had to call Best Buy to let them know my fixture was broken, setup another appointment for a different installer to come out and finish the job. Mastech did a wonderful job, the installer even asked where I wanted the drop for the lines. 5 stars for Mastech and if I could give Novel a 0, I would. Best Buy if you read this, you may want to get rid of Novel in Central Florida off of your 3rd party contractors.

I told them where to drill the holes and where to mount the cameras and they drilled the hole where they wanted and mounted the cameras where they wanted, they were supposed to mount 8 cameras and they only mounted 4, I was expecting The Geek Squad to do this instead it was a third party. Not happy at all

Dont spend $647 for this service my cctv still hanging and not properly installed the wires is so visible and can easily be cut if someone trying to vandalized your home. I did call to fix the problem they do the site survey and said we will be back and they will do another appointment for me to get it fix to re route the wires but after two days i check if i have a confirm appointment but nothing came out so need to go to the store to make an appointment again to fix the problem.

I never had that bad experience in my life they send people with no experience to my house take 12 hr to install 8 camera walk with out shoes cover in all my house install on rung place and not responded back to fixing it and also over charge for everything

Technician did damage to my property by putting the security cameras. Made some big holes when they could be made small and made some holes and then didn't put the cameras there.
